This winter offering from Ninkasi is billed as a Double Alt and hits the mark quite well. Brown with red around the edges, the head is thing but laces well. The aroma is malty with brown bread and just a touch of fruity hop. The flavor is malt dominant with toast, nut and a little toffee. The finish has quite a hop to it. Maybe a little more than the style should suggest but there again it is made here in Oregon, we just can’t help ourselves.
